Agenda 21, Chapter 14: Promoting Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development

This chapter from Agenda 21 -- the 1992 Earth Summit's Program of Action on Sustainable Development in the 21st Century -- addresses the challenge identified then of meeting the demands of a rapidly growing population for food and other agricultural commodities, particularly in developing countries. The chapter outlines some of the basic elements of SARDi (sustainable agriculture and rural development).
