Coconino County Sustainable Economic Development Initiative (SEDI)
Coconino County in northern Arizona is one of the most beautiful and culturally diverse places in the United States. It contains Grand Canyon National Park, the Havasupai Nation, and parts of the Navajo, Hualapai and Hopi Nations. Except for the city of Flagstaff (pop. ~62,000), the county is largely rural.
The Coconino County Sustainable Economic Development Initiative (SEDI) advances sustainable economic development in the region by providing enabling, facilitating, and collaborative support to businesses, educational and government entities, and other organizations that are working to increase social equity, economic prosperity, and ecological health. We focus on five types of development where there are significant opportunities for sustainability. For each we have identified goals, strategies and action steps as well as additional resources and opportunities.
