UN Discussion on Sustainable Production and Consumption

At an event held on May 10 during the annual meeting of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, CitNet cosponsored a discussion on Sustainable Consumption and Production, one of the topics on the agenda for this year.

Gail Karlsson, CitNet's New York Coordinator, made a presentation on 'Sustainable Lifestyles', drawing on her experience in promoting sustainablility in New York City, and her work with the UN and ENERGIA on expanding access to energy in poor rural areas in Africa and Asia.

Jeffrey Barber, CitNet's Executive Director, described the UN's Marrakesh Process, which aims to support national and regional sustainability programs.
