Welcome to the new CitNet website
Join us in spreading the news! In response to your helpful suggestions and after many days and nights of dedicated effort, we are pleased to present on this World Environment Day the new website for the Citizens Network for Sustainable Development. Note that this website is a collective work-in-progress -- there is a lot of information which is waiting for your help to get posted here. We are counting on you to actively share with us your information, news, ideas, critiques and stories about the sustainability movement. This website is YOUR website, a place where we can exchange information and comments about our efforts to make this country and world truly sustainable.
With the new Drupal content management system installed by our friends at Grand Junction Design, we are now better able to share more timely information and news about developments in the sustainability movement. Also, the new site provides functions allowing you to directly comment and share your information, ideas and opinions on the various news items, events, blogs and other features.
This comments function is an important improvement as it not only allows you to share your views with the rest of the CitNet community and viewers, but also is a key vehicle for the CitNet Secretariat to get your input and feedback to help us continue to develop the website so it is a useful tool for you and the rest of the sustainability community.
Hopefully this new site will become a helpful aid to your work and efforts to help you better understand, promote, and practice sustainability in your home, community, nation and planet.
Other news
The new website arrives just in time to join CitNet's Campaign for a National Sustainability Strategy, linking with our new partnership with Change.org. In the coming weeks we invite you to help us monitor developments at the White House, federal agencies, and Congress as to the prospects of sustainability-guided policies coming together into a meaningful strategy and plan. In the coming year we hope to build alliances and support for a national strategy with a long-range vision and coherent policy framework and agenda for moving our country towards a sustainable future.
Also, check out our calendar of sustainability events, news and resources for different issues and parts of the country, as well as actions you may want to support or join. We will also keep you informed about the latest developments in CitNet's National Sustainability Strategy Campaign and our partnership on this with Change.org.
This is just our first cut at the new site. You can see there are several places which we have not yet had time to develop. With your help we will work on these different sections and together see them evolve. So please use the "comments" section to let us know what you think and how we can improve things! In time we will also introduce new features, so stay tuned!
