Briefing for NGOs in Washington Area

Dear Friends,

The Bureau of the WSSD Preparatory Committee will be visiting Washington DC on 7 December 2001 for a series of meetings with World Bank and GEF officials. In connection with this visit, a briefing with Non-governmental organizations based in the Washington DC area has also been scheduled.

Your organizations are invited to join the WSSD Prepcom Bureau on 7 December 2001, from 12 noon to 1 pm, at the Global Environmental Facility offices in Washington DC. This NGO briefing will provide (i) up-to-date information on the WSSD preparations and (ii) provide opportunities to participating NGOs to share with the Bureau their views, concerns or issues of priority for the Summit.

Interested NGO representatives need to contact Zehra Aydin Sipos (aydin@un.org) by no later than the end of of day on 5 December so that the necessary pass and Security arrangements can be made in time.

Logistical details: The briefing meeting will take place in the Main Complex (MC) located at 1818 H Street NW, exact room number is MC-9-W-150. Day-passes will be ready at the lobby based on the consolidated list that we will send by the end of 5 December.
