CSD AND LEADERSHIP ON SUSTAINABILITY:
A Citizens' Consultation on CSD 11

Friday, April 11, 2003
2:00 - 4:00 pm
Washington, DC (and via conference call)

Come join us for a meeting with members of the US Delegation and others (speakers from UNEP-North America and the European Commission are invited) to discuss the upcoming 11th Session of the Commission on Sustainable Development.

  • What were the outcomes of the World Summit on Sustainable Development?
  • What is or needs to be done to address the implementation gap in achieving sustainability?
  • How will the CSD follow up on this? Will it play a weaker or stronger role?
  • What kind of leadership is needed for the CSD, the US and other countries to move towards sustainability in their plans and actions for the next decade?
  • When will the United States develop and begin implementing a National Sustainable Development Plan -- as agreed at the World Summit?
