Making Sustainability a National Priority:
Next Steps After Johannesburg

Thursday, September 26
Washington, DC

2:30 - 4:30 pm
National Wildlife Federation
1400 16th Street, 5th Floor Conference Room
(at O St., use Dupont Circle metro, red line)

Now that the World Summit on Sustainable Development is over, the big question is "what next?" This meeting offers an open forum on what different groups are doing or think needs to be done to move sustainability forward as a priority at the national, state and local levels. We will examine some of the different strategies and approaches to making sustainable development a reality in America. Should sustainability be a national security priority? How to effectively address the range of sustainability issues: water, food, poverty, health....? Do we need a national strategy on sustainable development? What are some of the serious obstacles we face in this effort and practical strategies to overcome them?

No RSVP or call-in for this meeting.
