The next WSSD-Open Briefing and Consultation Meeting on Forests will be Wednesday, October 10th (rescheduled from September 27), from 1:00-3:00PM in Room 104A, Jamie Whitten Federal Building at 14th Street and Independence Avenue, SW in Washington DC. US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is hosting the meeting to assist State Department, which has the lead for Summit preparations for the US Government. This meeting is to prepare for discussions on forest at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD), including, as discussed at the last meeting, the development of a U.S. Forest Sector Report for the Summit. Similar to the format of two previous meetings, the first hour will be an open meeting involving representatives from federal agencies as well as private sector, including non-government organizations. The second hour will be for representatives from federal agencies only.
