The United Nations Environment Program's Regional Office for North America (UNEP-RONA) invites concerned members of North America's civil society organizations to attend this consultation, in preparation for the UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF), scheduled for 24-26 February 2010, in Bali, Indonesia.

The North American consultation will provide inputs to a 2-day meeting of UNEP's 11th Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Foroum (GMGSF), to be held in Bali from 21-22 February 2010. Two sponsored North American regional representatives to the GMGSF will be selected at the January 8 meeting.

The 2010 Ministerial Consultations will concentrate on the following areas:

• Meetings of the Conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions
• Discussion on International Environmental Governance and the Green Economy
• Biodiversity and Ecosystems
