Flights & Lodging

Below are the official sites for arrangements. We suggest you also check through a travel agent or travel website as well, we were able to save a few hundred that way.

If you want to save as much money as possible, consider buying two separate sets of tickets, instead of one connecting set. If you don't mind an 8 hour-to-overnight layover, you could save hundreds by buying a ticket from your hometown to London or Paris, and then a separate ticket from that city to Johannesburg (airport code JNB).

Airline Best Bets

From the US, Air France and British Airwaysconnect through France and London, while South African Airways has flights direct from Atlanta. Other airlines, such as Continental, also fly to Joburg.

Official WSSD Hotel, Flight, & Tour Sites

Official Accomodations Site
Global Conferences DMC

http://www.wssddmc.com/
This is where to go if you are looking to book hotel reservations for a group or an individual through the official accomodations coordinator.

Official Flights & Tours Site
Global Conferences DMC

http://www.wssdtravel.com/
For pre and post tours of South Africa and day tours of Gauteng, the official tour provider for WSSD offers package tours, day trips, custom tours, and car and flight arrangements. (Budget tip: If traveling from the US and money is tight, don't automatically go with them, be sure to comparison shop. We found that in some cases, it is significantly cheaper to fly to London, have a layover, and then fly on a separate ticket from London to Johannesburg...)

Other Online Airfare Sites

Airfare Search Engines

Our staff has used all three of these in the past; be sure to check each, as they don't always come up with the same prices across the board.

"Take What You Get" Bargainfinders

You may find bargains at these two sites, but since they don't show you travel times or airline names until after you purchase the tickets, you could get stuck with a really inconvenient itenary.

Best Rates for Students

Here are two student-oriented companies that may also help you get the lowest possible price, if you're a student..
